Spray Ink Background

Had fun playing with some background pages.  I need to figure out the dark backgrounds and how to do pen that shows up.  I've used the moonglow pens, but they cover up the black outlines I've drawn.  I'll have to keep playing with it.

More Quote Art

Some of these pieces take a bit of time.  I only have one complete.  I'm working on another zentangle Chinese symbol - I just love those, but it's taking a lot of time to do, so I'm not done yet.  Hopefully over the weekend!

I really love this quote.  I plan to do several with different types of lettering.  I wish my dandelion had shown up a bit better - I guess I needed to use the moonglow pens on this background but chose metallic ones instead.

Word Art

Finally I had some time to do some pictures!  I feel so much better when I do!  And it kept me from eating while watching TV so that's always a plus!

Most of these were moonglow pens, but I don't like how they cover the black lines on my dangles, so I used some other pens as well.

Moonglow Pens

I found some moonglow pens!  They are sold separately at my local Michael's, so I got about 5 of them.  And then I played with them last night!

The moon glow pens just really "pop"!

I also like the artwork framed - somehow it looks more like art to me!

Using the Printer

So, I've decided to go to the printer for help with my lettering.  I need to practice the fonts I want to be able to draw, so I did a bunch of backgrounds on printed quotes.  I used regular card stock because I needed something that would print well.

Here is what I did last night:

I really like the art.  This is what I've been trying to accomplish with my lettering.  I have some more printed ones to work on and then I'm going to try doing the lettering freehand again.  I really like these.

Spray Ink Art Journal Backgrounds

Worked on backgrounds for my art journals today!  I ordered a bunch of dylusions ink spray off of the Rangerink.com site and have just had a blast working with them.

Now I just have to figure out what artwork to put on top!  I'm really loving the word art, with zentangles, of course, so maybe that will grace these pages.

I do think some of the backgrounds are going to be too dark to do some types of art.  I will have to experiment and see!
