I'm renewed now that I have a bunch of new backgrounds to play on.  I also discovered a blog that showed how to do some lettering that I've played with - even my handwriting looks artistic!

Art - Backgrounds for my Journals

I really needed to work on doing some backgrounds in my journals and just on some blank pages to have some things to do my art on.

I've got them on the floor drying in front of the heater.

My workspace.  I use the spray inks and water to make the colors mix together.  Some of what I do is on simple card stock paper and some is actually on watercolor or mixed media paper.  I spray the paper liberally with water - some I have have actual puddles on the page - so that when I add the ink, it swirls and flows over the page.

Played some more with some ink spray backgrounds in addition to just my normal art journal with it's crisp white pages.

Lettering Art

I've been using the writing with pencil, outlining and erasing the pencil technique for lettering.  My handwriting is so bad, though!  Still, it looks pretty cool.

I've been working on my lettering - I'm not great at it at all.  But it's fun to do and the more practice the better I should get.  Theoretically.

This says "Listen to your heart" - not sure you can even read it!

I like this one - but I'm not great at outlining.

I remembered seeing something like this somewhere - probably on pinterest - I think it's cute!

This one says, "Shadows can't exist without Light"
